Joe Jaw
Joe Jaw was born in 1930 on Nottingham Island near Coral Harbour in Nunavut. With his wife, Melia, he moved to Cape Dorset from Qarmaaijuk camp and began drawing. Joe moved south for tuberculosis treatment in 1961. His siblings Simeonie Quppapik, Pudlo, and Oshutsiak Pudlat were also artists. Joe's works have been exhibited at many galleries, including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
